«Топографические донесения Филиппа II»: предыстория и контекст

The article highlights the historical background of the «Relaciones topograficas de Felipe II», one of the most significant cultural projects launched by Spanish Crown in the second half of the 16^th century. Also the article raises the issues of the originality, purposes and authorship of the source. The «Relaciones» are considered in the context of other geographical and historical Royalty's initiatives of that time. Creation of questionnaires 1570s as another issue is undertaken as well.
