In the article the author explores the evolution of harm compensation models through analysis of the general tort principle. This principle is considered in the historical context using the example of classical harm compensation models and models of different countries. At the same time the article analyzes specific features law of different countries, where there is a general tort. According to the results of the research, the author formulates conclusions about perspective of applying of the general tort principle at the present time.
