The article is devoted to the genealogy of the Moscow Rurikids and provides a demographic assessment of the development of this branch of Russian governors. Reader view demographic processes throughout Russian lands during the 13 ^th to the 16 ^th centuries. The Moscow Rurik dynasty existed for 335 years, from the formation of the Moscow principality in 1263 to the death of Tsar Fyodor I in 1598, producing generations of governors of Moscow. The average age of the family members from the first to fourth generation, 13 ^th to early 15 ^th centuries, was 41.75 years; fifth to the eighth generation, which was the end of the 14 ^th to the first part of the 16 ^th century, 43.5 years; the ninth to the 10 ^th generations, from the thirtieth year of the 16th century to the end of the 16th century, Dukes and Tsars lived an average of 32.3 years. Dukes entered marriage in the first to fourth generations at 17.25 years; in the fifth trough eighth generations, at 22.18 years; in the ninth to tenth generations, the average age decreased to 15.8 years. In the 14 ^th to the first half of the 15 ^th century, brides married at 13 — 15 years old, later at 14 — 23 years. Eleven Dukes died bachelors, the others established families. From the 13 ^th century to the end of the 16 ^th century, the Moscow Dukes consummated sixty marriages of which sixteen marriages proved infertile. In the remaining forty-four families, 137 children were born. Fifty-one children of these died in childhood, a mortality 37.2%. The Dukes' families consisted of a married couple and 2-3 children, which corresponded to the average for families of different social groups in Western Europe in the 15 ^th century. Of the sixty married women, the origins were known for forty-seven. They were twenty-two from the Rurik dynasty, eleven foreign title holders and fourteen untitled. The relationship with women from the Rurik dynasty led to the physical and intellectual degradation of future generations. Spasmodic attempts in the 16 ^th century to remedy the situation such as marriages with representatives of untitled nobility were not successful. The Moscow Rurikids became obsolete.
