The article discusses the architecture of ancient churches, structur- ally similar to the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Mirozhsky Monastery in Pskov. Among these churches are the Church of St. Clement and St. George in Ladoga and the Trinity Cathedral of pre-Mongol period in Pskov. Constructive similarities of the churches of the «Mirozhsky» group and Kiev-Pereiaslav tradition allow us to make a conclusion about the manifestation of the same trends (possibly related to innova- tions in liturgical practice), which are reflected in the churches of the South and the North of Russia in the 12th century.
