The paper studies the philosophical views of Yu.V. Andreev, a remarkable Russian historian of Ancient Greece. Regarding the concept of the ‘Greek Miracle’, the paper argues that Andreev regards Ancient Greece as the counterpoint of the world history, while maintaining that the end on Antiquity marked the beginning of a spiritual decline for mankind. The paper studies Andreev’s views on ancient and contemporary philosophers (especially O. Spengler) and Russian thinkers (P. Chaadaev, V. Ivanov, A. Blok).
